Perrier hopes to send subliminal messages to any possible consumer that view this advertisement. They psychologically create the image of fitness and athleticism when viewers think of their beverage. Both the man holding the straw to the drink and the man that the image is depicted on, the advertisers fill the product's background with healthy and appealing images. This could potentially cause the belief that their beverage is healthy and therefore sway the minds of those who want to be healthy to purchase this product rather than others. 'Subliminal messaging' is often not only an effective advertisement technique, but also an accidental part of daily life that much of society's culture is derived from.
